Why a Comic Shop Sells Backpacks

Walk onto the lot and you’ll notice something next to the longboxes: a wall of Loungefly bags. Fair question. What’s a comic shop doing selling backpacks?

Same characters, different shelf. Loungefly makes licensed bags for Marvel, DC, Disney, Star Wars, and just about every fandom with a cape or a castle. Our Scarlet Witch mini sits a few feet from the Wanda books for a reason. If you love the character on the page, there’s a good chance you’d carry them on your back.

It’s the same collector itch, too. Comic folks chase variant covers and limited print runs. Bag folks chase park exclusives, festival drops, and limited runs that sell out in an afternoon. The Epcot Food & Wine Chip ‘n Dale bag is basically a convention exclusive you can wear. Different hobby, same “I need that one” feeling.

And it’s who walks in. Half the people digging through our boxes have somebody with them who’d rather be looking at something else. Now there’s something else to look at. Sometimes the comic person ends up buying the bag.
